RATING SYSTEM:
I decided to include this Rating System so authors and readers understand how I rate books.
I usually never DNF a book. I'm a little OCD and always need to read from beginning to end. Even if I feel disconnected from the story, I still give the author the benefit of the doubt and finish the book.
5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a rating I rarely give out, especially since it's the highest rating someone can give. That being said, if I rate a book 5⭐️, it’s because the book has left an imprint in (or on) me and I felt it to my core. It was absolutely amazing and I loved every bit of it. I will most definitely purchase a paperback to add to my library.
4 STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This rating to me—although a 4—means I absolutely loved the book and will show my appreciation through the teasers in my reviews.
I also tend to rate a book 4.5/5 by giving a 4 star rating.
If the book was incredible, it was probably missing something to reach 5 stars and left me wanting more.
3 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed the book, may not have felt a connection between the characters or the story but I still found the book enjoyable.
2 STARS ⭐️⭐️
I really try my best to avoid giving 2⭐️ but it can happen—not often though. If I do, it’s solely because there was no connection between the story and me. Probably took me too long to connect and the storyline might have lost me at some point.
1 STAR ⭐️
If this would come to happen—never did yet—I wouldn't rate the book at all. I believe this rating, regardless of my opinion, would do more harm than good, and if it was an ARC, I would privately email the PR or Author to let them know.
Hoping this helps!
